Though if you are not in fact reading this, then SCREW YOU. But to reiterate, if you are, I approve of your copious amounts of awesome. Unless you aren’t, I have my eyes on the people who aren’t.

Nerd rant: I’ve been thinking quite a bit about Dunbar’s Number lately and I’ve come to the conclusion that the only scalable resource of living organisms are their memory. The quicker people are able to parse this memory into experience-based action is known as intelligence. The more information we can hold is known as education. The ability to draw upon different threads and pull them together is known as perception. The ability to hit shuffle on your memory and collect the pieces is known as imagination. Even our social structures are infected with the limits of our memories limitations as seen in good ol’ Dunbar.

What if we took our ability to store and retrieve memory and scaled it 100 times? A being that could live its life without forgetting a moment, with infinite interest, and able to connect the bridges of information in a way we could only dream. For me, this is the closest I could imagine to a God.

By the way, does anyone know if there is a branch of science that compares the similarities of branches of science? I’ve been obsessed with a “Theory of Everything” since I was a kid and never saw anyone actively trying to look at the insane amount of common traits seen from atoms to galaxies. With all of the hyper specialization and competition between branches I can see why it may not exist…

Question: Would a geek or a nerd really label themselves as such? I know the definitions, but I happen to believe it is quite uncouth to anoint oneself to nerddom alone as it has intelligence implications.

Thanks to all of the new folks that have subscribed in the past few days! I’m hugging you in a completely non-erotic way. Like a large fuzzy theme park mascot would hug an adult, where the pretense of the awkward situation is paper thin. But I do this with more love and 50% less praying for a bathroom break.

That said, I’ve never been so proud to be an American.

I may not agree with president-elect Obama on all points, but I know that he’s a driven and intelligent leader. We’ve seen the effects of a leader who does not have vision all too well the past eight years. America as we know it is on its last legs. Today I have something I can’t say I’ve had much of lately - hope. Regardless of your political affiliation, now is the time to believe we can rise above our mistakes. I’m not sure if it is possible considering the weighty burden, but the fresh tingle of hope feels pretty damn good.

(Woo, I went the life of this whole blog not mentioning politics. My blogger license has been revoked. Back to crazy yammering.)

You’d think since I set my schedule I could cram in a comic a day, right? Seesh, does my boss suck. But if I told you what I was doing you wouldn’t even believe me. I don’t even believe me for good reason. The positive news is I’m back on the daily comic bandwagon!

Pixelton Hero of this Comic: Peckinpaw! What I like about Peckinpaw is that he doesn’t screw around. He simply comments that he is here, like some sort of trippy internet mindgame. Does a tree fall in the woods if Peckinpaw doesn’t command it? TELL ME PECKINPAW. TELL ME OR ELSE! (Oh, and go visit his comic ICECUBES)

My list of demands when I die:

- I demand to be shot out of giant novelty cannon at Earth’s Sun
- I demand no black should be worn
- I demand a life-size pinata replica of me shall be displayed. Inside the me-ata will be hammers or the organs of other animals.

I can’t stress how serious I am here folks. If I die without a giant cannon involved you better hope there isn’t an afterlife. (I’d like to double stress that this isn’t a joke. Triple stress if it helps me from a legal perspective. I’m not above having my dead body sue my family.)

Ahhh! I’m a day behind and it’s only Tuesday. Luckily my blogging software allows me to go back in time to post this. But the more I think of it, why stop there? Why use this power for such selfish reasons?

I’m going to blog back to 1939 and stop Hitler first with a crushing post about his fixation with ladies undergarments. Then I’m going to blog back and reveal the “Top Ten things Jesus actually hates” circa 20 B.C.. Finally, I’ll arrive at the Big-Bang where I live-blog my way into the hearts of our galaxies many civilizations.

Far too long has passed since I’ve made new pages for the graphic novel. The good news is I’ll have time this weekend to push forward. Also, keep an eye out for the full color “Career Change” continuation this weekend as well. I’ve spent more time on that one page that I’d like to publicly admit…

Congrats to Darren J. Grendon of the sweet clay comic Dear Pirate for completely guessing today’s comic! I’d pull out the sketch I did a few days ago, but it would only show that I’ve officially become too predictable. (And Harlequin’s old-timey jig was amongst the best I’ve seen in a comments section!)

Calvin and Fil: If I’m being honest, Pixelton was always meant to be a mix of Sam & Max and Calvin & Hobbes mixed with a CYOA adventure. I’m not sure if these dailies reflect these influences but they are helping me remember what I wanted to accomplish. In the graphic novel I have one clear goal, but per week I can do anything I’d like. This feels really nice right now.

When I couldn’t afford college I made my own artistic goals. I drew every day for two years working on a graphic novel, but I never knew if I’d ever have a chance to see my book become a reality. In 2004-2005 I saw my dream come true.

Today I’m launching the web comic edition of my graphic novel, “Nothing Left to Lose” at NothingComic.com. Every Monday through Friday a new page will be released until the entire series is online in July 2009. In addition to the artwork, I’ll be proving PDF versions, CBR versions, and PSP versions for you to download for free. If this looks like your cup of comic tea feel free to subscribe or tell a friend. It would be much appreciated.

In my most optimistic dreams I never imagined I’d have a chance to work on a comic like Pixelton or hear comments that are make me laugh on a daily basis. I’m truly blessed. Thank you for making this journey possible. If things go well I’ll be discarding my Pixelton graphic novel for free online in a few years, endlessly plugging a new book of insatiable expectation.

Baboons - this comic has zero. Thoughts?

Hero of this comic: Josh B! Josh has his own webcomic the The Crazy Adventures of Josh & Sam. I can’t vouch for how crazy Josh & Sam are, but I will say that he is a very talented young artist. When his comic book comes out I’m going to be the first in line!

New Daily Comics: I’m going to give this a try and see how it works. Color, size, “wackiness level” will change daily over the next few weeks. I might do mini-stories but they won’t last more then two weeks. It should be much nicer then waiting an eternity for one shiny page.

But what about the big colorful pages?! They’ll still be around. I’m in crunch time to finish areas of the graphic novel so my coloring time is being spent here. I think it is a good trade.

2) The giant normal comics will continue but on a monthly basis. The pirate story will continue tomorrow and see it’s conclusion in the coming weeks. A new big and fun color story will continue alongside the dailies.

3) I’m going to do an weekly/biweekly comic art video podcast. If you dig learning about comic art you may enjoy this.

4) The blog was slow and crashed often under our old server. We went down a few hours a day which made me sad panda. We’re now on Media Temple servers which run on the souls of children. They died so fictional characters can make you smile!
