Finding your purpose and/or finding a porpoise

0 Votes

Somewhere in the sky, possibly several miles up, I’m sitting in a small bathtub with a bear. The bear wears a top hat and a monocle. His ramshackle sky vessel is equipped with a tea pot, and so we pour and stare down at a city I made.

Progress is seen from 50,00 feet:

  • All pages are now with balloons
  • All pages are now lettered
  • All pages are now extra funny
  • Two animations done
  • Two animations close to being done
  • I’m hiring someone full-time who’s time will be spent on this book.

The bear is suspicious.

A step back:

  • I’ve decided to add 150 more pages, nearly doubling the size of the book to 300 pages.
  • I’ve rewritten the intro over 40 times.
  • Two new animations started.
  • A nearly complete game was lost when my computer crashed.
  • I can’t solve for x.

The benefits of any creative project is that you’re never sure where you’ll end up. Had the bear and I began with a map the journey wouldn’t have been as fun. So we float.

I want to bring my “A+” game to online Pixelton comic and I can’t while doing the book. I want to bring my “A+” game to the cartoon video series and I can’t either. So, for the moment, both are on hold. Bummer. But I will be back. And then the focus will be completely online.

We’ll smile. And then I’ll offer you a ride with the bear, in the bathtub, above a city that you helped make.

If you’d like to receive an email when the book is ready I also have an email list going. Please subscribe if you’re tired of sad RSS posts. :D

Thanks so much,

A nearly complete game was lost when my computer crashed.

If losing my savegames and saving over those I needed later has taught me anything, it’s that paranoia is a good thing now and then. Backup. Back your files up as often and as much as you can - 20+ copies of the same thing can’t hurt. USB sticks, external HDDs, CDs & DVDs, and teh internet (but only as a last resort). Unless it was… *DUN, UN, DUUUNN* Sabotage! *cue Beastie Boys*

In any case, I’m pretty sure you’ve already known all of this, but it’s been a while since I’d said anything around here, and this was the best I could come up with… Err…

    I love this comment!

This is the whole point of being an entrepreneur! Living in the unknown! This type of thinking is how I live my life.

I think I want my own bear now as well.
