Career Change – Three Steps – Pt 3

* * * * * 3 Nice Folks Voted

Thanks to everyone who reached out to me by email and in comments here the past week. I’m not sure how people go through this sort of loss. Living twenty five years and escaping the fearful acknowledgement of death makes me feel like my family has won the lottery in a morbid way. Mortality should be the clearest part of our lives, and yet it is the easiest thing to ignore.

With my grandma passing away it really made me take stock of why I write these silly comics. Why do I compulsively make these things and do they really impact anyone? Am I wasting my life? Strange questions for me since I’m pretty stubborn in my belief that creating things for the good of creating is all that matters. What are your thoughts?

Regardless, the dancing monkey is back for your amusement. :D

I’ve been dreaming up some interesting articles and comics for this week too, so keep your eyes peeled tomorrow for this week’s schedule of goodies heading to dominate your face.

Oh and I shan’t forget this strip pre-color. Stare at the contrast and meditate on its deeper meaning:
Fil in a pirate tree screaming

Thanks for reading!

    If by impacting me you mean give me a good laugh when I read them, then yes I guess they’re working.

    Yeah, they have an impact. They’re fun to read, you can tell a lot of work is put into them, and the fact that sometimes they only make sense to you means you’re doing this because it’s what you want to do, not to please an audience. That does mean a lot. We should all be so lucky. ^_^

    Ha, Ha – thanks Harlequin. I’m awful lucky if these make sense to me sometimes. :)

    Agreed on the chance to do what we love as well! You hit the nail on the head actually. I’m rolling something on on Sunday which goes with this whole “I’m happy because I have time to do what I want” thing. Something that will do good for others I hope.

    That and a bit about hidden codes and dedications.

    I’ve only stumbled upon your comic recently, but I really like how you’ve put it together so far. Both the comics and the website have some sweet eye candy in them, and the theme of ex-video-game-stars in their own pixel-y world is adorable. I never get tired looking at that header picture of a floating assortment of random items :D

    Also, the RSS feed was a plus. I’m crazy about reading RSS feeds in Google Reader :P

    I’m a writer so creating is something I can’t live without and as a type of artist, you shouldn’t go without creating either. Especially when what you create brings joy to those that read it ( like me ^_^), This comic is cute and hilarious. Love it!

    Thanks so much Nicki and Cometh!

    You’ve inflated my ego to a degrees where I can now stare at people directly in the eyes when speaking. Cool.
